Summary

This job opportunity at Grammarly for a Software Engineer in the Developer Experience team requires collaboration in person 2 weeks per quarter and focuses on building tools and ecosystems to enhance the productivity and impact of Grammarly's engineers.

What you'll do

  • Use modern tools and services, such as Gitlab, Artifactory, Sourcegraph etc, to build a massively scalable platform for Grammarlyโ€™s services.
  • Build solutions and frameworks to spin up, test, deploy, and observe Grammarlyโ€™s services without much effort.
  • Design and build solutions to improve day-to-day engineering processes like code reviews, testing, deployment, and many more.
  • Manage third-party systems used by Grammarlyโ€™s engineers.
  • Participate in on-call incident response and escalation procedures.

Requirements

  • Is able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub where the team is based.
  • Loves solving problems for your customers and are able to identify customer needs and pain points proactively.
  • Has experience with working on developer tooling or developer experience projects.
  • Has at least 6 years of experience delivering and owning features running in production, preferably a high-load system.
  • Is knowledgeable of AWS โ€”or has deep expertise in Azure or GCP and is willing to learn AWS quickly.
  • Can deliver maintainable, scalable, and high-quality code in Go or other languages.
  • Can communicate well and collaborate effectively, empathetically, and proactively on a tightly integrated team.
  • Can understand a problem, see the holistic picture, and break it down into single and manageable components.
