Summary

Viam is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to join their team, focusing on enabling software engineers to build and program robots through mentoring, technical documentation, and community engagement.

What you'll do

Mentoring other developer advocates and members of the Viam team
Building and documenting sample projects that highlight Viam product capabilities
Providing peer review for code and technical content
Creating content and hands-on activities for workshops and conferences/events
Developing and delivering technical talks
Working with the community to support them and raise awareness of how the Viam platform can support them in their robotics projects
Keeping up with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to provide insights to the community and internal teams

Requirements

Experience mentoring developer advocates and/or other technical mentorship
Experience in a developer advocacy role, or hands-on work with end users of technical products
Programming experience (Python, Go, or JavaScript preferred) and the ability to create and document technical demo projects
Comfort speaking about technical topics in front of an audience
Experience working with physical hardware
An interest in solving challenging problems with practical solutions
Experience creating high-quality content, such as blogs, tutorials, and videos for developer audiences
