This job involves creating technical documentation for a software platform that enables software engineers to build and program robots, with a focus on mentoring other technical writers, developing sample applications, and improving documentation based on qualitative and quantitative data.
What you'll do
- Mentoring other technical writers
- Writing the documentation for Viam’s products
- Developing sample applications for web, mobile, or data processing
- Helping build the layout and information architecture of documentation
- Helping with improvements to Hugo framework and automation workflows
- Contributing to and editing tutorial blog content
Requirements
- Experience mentoring technical writers
- Experience in technical writing
- Some programming experience sample projects and applications (Python, Go, or JavaScript preferred) and an understanding of coding concepts
- Experience with version control (Git/Github)
- Experience with automation (GitHub Actions, scripting…)
- Experience or a wish to work with physical hardware
- An interest in solving challenging problems with practical solutions
