What you'll do

Become a product expert. Get to know all the ins and outs of the product. Be able to use Pure Storage technology like a pro.
Embed yourself with product teams, development engineering, and QA so you can independently obtain information and solve problems.
Use a cloud-based DITA authoring tool to create content.
Write CLI, GUI, and REST API documentation for system administrators and developers, taking full responsibility for an assigned set of software documents, including user guides and man pages.
Write release notes on a monthly cadence.
Get to know your user and craft content that solves their problems and enhances their experience.
Develop a career path at Pure that builds your knowledge and expands your horizons.

Requirements

Excellent technical writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English
Openness to learning new technical tools
Ownership and hands-on mentality
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and images
Experience writing in accord with a style guide
Experience working in a DITA environment, including CMS and authoring tools
A keen eye for detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Pride in creating quality content
Energy and fun
5+ years of software technical writing experience
Experience with HTML, XML, UNIX/Linux, REST APIs, and/or Git
Experience using JIRA and Confluence (Wiki)
Experience working in a highly collaborative (Agile) environment
Experience working independently in a cross-functional team setting
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with programming or scripting is a strong plus
